I am considering a buy on the Canon 70-200 2.8 lens.
B and H has a teleconvertor that says it is for EOS with 90mm and larger. Is this due to the mounts? Has anyone used this on the 70-200? If not, what should I look for?

Thanks in advance.

I haven't got this particular extender but I got one similar to this (Canon 1.4X) and it works on my 70-200 2.8L.

I would HIGHLY recomend you get the Canon 1.4X t-con for use with a Canon 70-200mm f/2.8
The Canon lens is one of the best zoom lenses made. It would be a shame to use a cheap Teleconverter with it.

I would have to agree with CDS. From what I've seen around, there's rarely an image issue with the Canon 1.4 on that lens - you'll probably never see image degradation.

Be aware that the Canon TC's will not physically fit with all EF lenses. They have an extension out the front, that requires the rear of the lens that mount on them to have a recess in the rear.
I have an older 70-210 F4 EF (non L, non USM, push/pull zoom) and sadly, the Canon TC's will not work with it. I understand that there are 3rd party TC's that will, though. I'm glad I took a look at a Canon TC in the store before ordering/buying one.
Just thought I'd toss that in there, in case someone was thinking of ordering a Canon TC 'sight unseen'. I believe that Canon has a footnote on their EF lens chart that indicates which of their current lenses will work with their TC's. It's not just a matter of optics, it seems, but also physical clearances for the protruding front element on the TC.
