some of the first shots could have been better if you had shot vertically.. it is a vertical sport after all. With the vertical shots you can then crop them in with the bottom half of their bodies and have the basket. But you are on the right track and you do have the timing down. also, some shots are back-focused but ull get rid of that with shooting more.

if you dont mind i would also like to do some crops.

oh no by all means thanks for the tips I see what your saying! thank you! they have a big game friday so I'll be practicing there! again all my shots are totally untouched...just downsized and saved. Thanks I really appreciate it! I'm trying to get better. I have two jobs right now so I don't have a lot of spare time to mess w/ them in the computer.

That was kind of my thoughts. These are really well done, but there is a heck of a lot of dead space in these shots. Verticel would be good, tighter would be good too. But with that said, these look really good.

I did take a lot of verticles as well...here is a link to all the pics...

the ones I posted are the ones I thought we're the best w/ action and facial expressions...but I definately can look at my pictures from a different point of view! now do you think I should do vertical only or just basically start cropping my pictures?

I was also trying to catch other stuff on the court but I guess it's better to just focus on the main stuff of the game. I can't wait to practice more!

If you cropped these alot better not only would they stand out better but you would see which ones were OOF and which ones werent...A few of them are pretty badly OOF. I think you do have some possibly very nice shots, but they need more time spent in PPing...Shooting so wide lets the BG's really distract from the subjects...

well this is a really rough edit but you should get the idea... i dont mean to edit tight but start shooting tight and practicing like that would make you a better sports photographer photographer (i think)

I like that edit much better, but you are right, to start shooting that way in the first place is the better way to go...

Another thing that you did and that I do ALL THE TIME is get the horizon off...in that last shot it looks like he is running downhill....LOL...

My mentor, when I was shooting with him a couple of weeks ago, told me to not call it "a problem" but to do it consistantly and call it "my style"....LOL

So that means you have style, just like me....LOL
