You might check out a camping store for a closed cell Ensolite or the like pad to cut up for the dividers. Glue 'em together with contact cement and you're set.

Many years ago, I bought a slab of foam and cut the shapes of lenses and bodies out for my Konica gear. I then sewed a cotton cover for it all and fixed it into a backpack.

In all honesty, buy a bag. I spent far more time and effort than its worth in the end.
Try checking out vintage camera stores. They tend to have an assortment of used bags for great prices.

I bought a carry all bag for day trips (walk arounds) from the Army Surplus store.

It is a field bag used by medics and/or document transporters in WWII, that holds my XT with lens attached, plus one more lens on the other side and a bit of room for some accessories. It has a stiff back to the bag so that ensure it lays flat against your side.

You can buy dividers from Andrama.com (or whatever the site is called.)

Hey, buy some chips ahoy in wallmart and get a plastic bag and use that. . .LOL... ..
Eh, I'm trying to get one too, but just don't have the fund, coz I tend to use the fund to buy something else. .haha..

break the canon badge off the 200EG or put a sticker or piece of tape over it?
to me, at least, it doesn't look like a 'camera' backpack - just a backpack.

it's lightweight, pretty sturdy and it holds everything in my signature and still has a ton of room leftover. If i took the G body out - i think I could fit maybe seven or eight mid sized lenses in it...

That being said, it's about half the size of the Targus backpack I carry around for work (i.t. job) which is a full sized laptop bag.

Still, i'm actually shopping for something even smaller, currently.
All three lenses and both bodies "live" in that bag full time, but I'm getting one more body and another lens this week. I'd like to have something really small to carry one body and a lens or two in. I like the idea of having all my gear with me when we go hiking or to the track, but plan on bringing a DSLR with me when I travel for work.

i think you need to find something that either had padded compartments or buy padded pounches for your lenses... if you can find something that has individual compartments other than a camer bag - get it. to me, the 200 was a no-brainer b/c it suits me just right. I would have spent more on three or for individual cases for the lenses than i spent on the whole bag.

Go to Wal Mart, go to the photography store, and then maybe some outdoor stores (Is there an http://rei.com near you?) and see what works best.
