I have been looking online for information concerning some wedding album products to offer clients. I am very familiar with the various coffee table albums (SharedInk, AsukaBook, etc), but I understand there to be many different persuasions of flushmount albums. Can anyone direct me as to where I can find sufficient education on the differences?

I have heard of the Leathercraftsmen and Willowbook albums, but I am not fully clear on points of difference (or how pricing for their creation is determined as well). I like to know differences as such so that I can offer more explanation than "this one is more expensive because, uh, it's more... better."

Any help or direction is much appreciated.

You really have to look at each one. Its hard to compare so many. Pricing is very different, but also depends on if you;
Design it
Print it

Some do it all, others allow you to do the design, and or printing.

I was just looking for an education concerning the products, Corey. The break down presented in your list just might have hit the mark for me. Much appreciated.

Corey, are any of the albums you mentioned located in Canada? I don't suppose that'd be the case, eh?

I see some of them ask you if you are a professional and I'm not. But I am looking for quality album makers. Any place particular that you guys would recommend?
I'd happy with something like Picto books.

Thanks in advance.

most require you to be a pro. The only one I know of that doesn't (potentially) is white wedding album.

Renissance and other tradional matted leather albums can be had by anyone at your local pro store usually, or online. Same goes for Premeria

One not on the list is BonMatch, and they are located in Canada.

BonMatch is Canadian (based out of Vancouver) and there's another company that does direct to consumer, but their albums look gorgeous. http://www.ourweddingalbums.ca/home.html

Also depending on where you are there are Candian companies taht resell Renaissance and Art Leather etc. albums. Beau Foto in Vancouver is the one I deal with most.

I went through Corey's list the other day and registered as a professional photographer. There are so many options it makes my head spin. I often wish I could sit down and HOLD each album in my hands to know what ones I like. I was thinking of using Blurb for budget brides and Asuka or Pictobook for everything else.

Also in Canada there is www.digi-labs.ca. I ordered a book. OK quality but the software is nice because it allows you to do pretty much anything without working in photoshop for the design. Saves a lot of time for the lower priced albums. But I too am looking for a mid/higher end book from a canadian supplier.

Laguna is another midrange vendor that people seem to like. I've signed on with Zookbinders, Pictobooks, and Bon Match, although it looks as if Zookbinders will be my book of choice.

MrsOpie, I would think twice about using Asuka for anything other than your budget folks. I just got order/received one for studio demo purposes and, while nice, is nothing to write home about. I'm offering it as my low-end offering and a flush mount from Albums Unlimited for others. So far, even my budget people have looked the two, side by side, and turned away from the Asuka.
