I just picked up my 10 D and 4 Canon lenses. I had a stuck pixel and 2 of my lenses had noticeable focus issues( slightly back focusing). They replaced my cmos sensor and re-calibrated all of the lenses for me with a smile. It is not often I have such a great experience with customer service and wanted to take my hat off to them.
FYI..I was not aware of this (perhaps I am the only one) that each lens can be re-calibrated independant of the body used. Apparently there is an electrical trim point that Canon can use to set "best focus". There is also a focus point on the body but apparently mine was within spec and the lenses were out of spec.
Cheers,
Darrin :)

Glad to hear it. Shots looking better?
I need to send a couple of my lenses in for minor repairs (both are idiot repairs, not warranty repairs). I may go ahead and send in the body and the rest of the lenses for the calibration process at the same time. Did they charge you for the calibration?

I just started testing the lenses and so far yes they do look better. I am still out a bit on my 17-40L but I think it is a livable situation. As for the stuck pixel, I may have one but have not made the test yet.
They did not charge me anything for any of the services but everything is still under warranty ( 1 month left).
Cheers,
Darrin

I've been trying to get down to the Irvine facility to deliver my 'dropped' 100-400L, but just can't seem to schedule it. It's encouraging to know that they do a good job.
Maybe I'll take the bodies and my 70-200 f/2.8L in at the same time for calibration. I've been a little suspicious of the 70-200 since I've owned it because it doesn't seem to be consistent in its focusing. (Truth is, I suspect operator error, but it's so much easier to blame the equipment).

I don't know, Tom, with the 70-200 it might not be the old dreaded operator error. My 70-200 is the fastest, most dead on accurate of all the lenses I own. I'm still amazed by this lens every time I use it. There's certainly no harm in having them take a look at yours.
