The contest is closed and the voting is open, so this is your opportunity to best for the best photo that meets the theme.

The first rule of voting. Please please please leave a comment when you vote. This contest really comes alive when people just drop in,say hi and perhaps tell us why they voted for a particular photo. It makes the contest more fun and gives really great feedback for the photographers.

Other stuff:
The poll will remain open for 7 days.
You can vote for three photos. Your vote will be public.
Please don't vote for your own photos or invite your friends to register and vote for you. This is considered cheating and will be taken very seriously by the moderation team. See here (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=182925) for more information.
As before there will 1st, 2nd and 3rd place positions.
I will be announcing the names (aliases) of the people who win.View the photos here:

Hey, I have only recently taken interest in photography, so I have a bit of an untrained eye, but I think all of the photos submitted were interesting. I think Lost Angels (18 ) fits the theme well, because it's a great city shot, and the traffic is portrayed in a manner that really gives the city a feeling of constant motion and activity. Also, Manhattan Drenched Dog Afternoon (23) caught my eye, because of its use of colors and framing. Lastly, The World Out There (27) really spoke to me. I think the picture masterfully depicts the cold and indifferent nature that city life tends to have.

Anyways, those are just my opinions. Like I said, I haven't been looking at photography for long, but I really enjoy analyzing things such as these. Good luck to everyone.

#17, #18, and #2 are my favorites. :D
I think they followed the theme 'City Life' the best.
I love the clarity and lighting in #17.
Lost Angels [#18] is a great example of the night life/traffic in the city.
I also picked #2, although it makes me tilt my head a little. :p

#17 reminds me of the narrow streets in Holland. It gets my vote. Very nice!

There are some nice entries. In voting, I looked for entries that best conveyed the theme, City Life. To me that was #3, 20 and 23. Each showed life close at hand by including people in the shot.

17, 22 and 28 are my picks. Although there were a bunch that were really good and conveyed the theme very well.

voted for 6, 16, and 23...liked 16 cause i felt that only in a city can you see something like that...I want to know what city the shopping fun pic is from...looks beautiful...also liked the way the london night shot captured the guy checking out the girls...classic...one last thing, i was curious if most of the people that submitted photos vote on the others...seems like the last few contests the winners didn't vote for the photos at all...just curious

How long to these voting/competitions usually last? I need to know when to look for a new competition. Thanks.

I pm'd a moderator to see how Big_B is doing, seeing that he hasn't logged on for a week now, and that it is highly unusual for him not to reply to a competition thread for more than a week after the voting closes. It turns out that Big_B is in the process of moving into a new residence and that he has limited access to the internet.

#7, #23, and @ 26, because I like the stories they tell. Sorry, but I didn't even consider the photos without a title.

There are some really amazing and inspiring images. I find it difficult to close the tabs that they are open in. I'm glad I found this site.

I'm confused, which contest am I voting for? Is it any and all of the categories and then I pick three that I like out of all the categories? And do I just post my vote here and state what category and the photo?

Or is it just the most recent category "Around the House"

all these contests are long over....they haven't had a new contest in quite some time...city life was the last one...don't know what happened, but they used to be fun to enter...too bad
