I'm looking to kind of expand myself and do some portrait shots. I think I have a couple of people I can use as "models," and I'd like to do much of my stuff outside. (Now would be kind of cool with the winter here, but I'd also like to do t in the spring, summer etc.)
So I was looking for tips, ideas etc., that would help me be a little more prepared and organized when approaching this subject. I'd hate to have friends tag along and be my "models" if I don't have it planned out well enough.
Any help?
Thanks!

Doh! Thought I had put it in there. Outside shots are going to be the main thing -- some hopefully soon (with winter still here) and then again in the summer and spring.
Thanks for the links, I'll check 'em out!

I'm curious, too, about what kind of things I should concentrate on when doing outdoors stuff -- specifically, the background. Because sometimes, there can be items in the background and all, so I'm wondering what kind of things a photographer should concentrate on.
