What size do you send an image as an attachment in an email?

Depends upon what the other end are going to use it for.
If I send a friend a couple of images and they are on dial-up then they get small jpegs, if they are on broadband then the images may be full size jpegs.
A client will get full-size jpegs - perhaps 2Mb each, split so that each image goes in a seperate e-mail - unless they specify tifs or psds - some even want the images embedded in pdfs.
All images are zipped before sending as attachments - some, especially business, e-mail systems will not accept files as .jpg, .tif .doc anyway and it does help to compress the attachment size as much as possible - though jpegs don't compress further than they already are usually.
