These are my first pics with my 30D and my first time ever shooting with a digital SLR.

Here's a couple of pics I took today in full auto mode. That's about all I can do at this point. I haven't "absorbed" the novel Canon calls a user's guide just yet.

This is the spire designed by Frank Loyd Wright not long before he died. Supposedly, no two components are the same dimensions. It's located in North Scottsdale.

I hosed up the framing on this one. I probably have to do that adjustment on the viewfinder.

It was a clear day today for the FBR Open. I could almost hit the PGA golfers with a rock from where these pics were taken.

Shooting somewhat into the sun. Not enough color here.

Same here.

From another angle with the sun at my back. The color in the rocks really comes out.

I have a long way to go before I learn and can utilize the capabilities of this camera.

I plan on going back and taking more shots in manual mode. That should make it more interesting.

Really nice captures. Where in North Scottsdale is that? We go in there a lot and stay by the airport.

TIA,

Lynn

It's at the intersection of Scottsdale Rd. and Frank Lloyd Wright.
