I took these last weekend. Hit me with the critism.

I like them both.
Both are a *little* too busy. The stick in #1 is distracting. A higher or lower perspective might have been nicer. A lower perspective could have made the stick lead to the eye, which might work better.

I like the top one 'Pensive'. The colour of the beak and eye are great and the feathers on the head and body are well defined.
'Pensive' would be better if you were abel to remove the branch behind the birds beak as it spoils the line of the beak and distracts the eye
The second is two busy and neither bird take the 'lime light'. The viewer is left with nothing to focus on.

What lens were you using for pensive?
I only ask because if you could have dialed in less depth of feild (ei larger apeeture) the branch may have "gone away"
It's a fantastic shot! A wonderfull portrait. You may be able to clone out the branch as well.
The secong shot is nice but it doesn't have the same impact.
Your colors and saturation look good,. allmost too good! :wink:

Thanks for all your comments. Both shots were taken with Canon 75-300 III Non-IS.
