I bought my camera in the EOS Digital Rebel EF-S 18-55 Kit.

I've pawed through the book and everything tells me my model should be able to take RAW format photos, but when I open the formar menu there is no RAW option, just the various JPEG formats.

Anyone else run into this? I tried upgrading the software and I seem to be running on the most current software (1.1.1).

Frankly, I'm perplexed. Is is possible that my model is not able to take RAW and I just missed a note in the book?

In the 10D RAW mode is only available in one of the "creative zones"... P/AV/TV/M/A-DEP. It cannot be selected in the "basic zone" modes. I presume the 300D is the same. Try putting the camera into one of the "creative" modes and see if RAW appears as an option.

Tis indeed. I give you credit for browsing through the manual but it doesnt seem like you actually read it. Unless your just not good at recalling that sort of stuff.
