Hello.........I was just wondering if anyone here knows of a site that sells lens hoods for Canon consumer grade lenses (50mm f1.8 II, 35-80mm f4-5.6, 80-200mm f4-5.6 & 75-300mm f4-5.6 USM) other than the standard Canon hoods. I'd like to find some petal hoods for these lenses but don't know if any even exist. Any help you all can give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks... :D.......PhotoDude25

I don't think is a third-party hood manufacturer. At least not that I have heard of.

Years ago you could buy generic threaded lens hoods that screwed onto common sized lenses. The problem with most of them is that on wider lenses, you're very apt to get vignetting with them because they're not 'tulip-shaped' as the hoods from Canon would be. Canon sells specific lens hoods for each lens, and they are designed individually to provide maxiumum protection without encroaching into the image.

They're expensive, but probably worth the money as they appear to be the only game in town.

Check out SpeedGraphic in the UK for a lead.

They sell third party lens hoods by Heliopan, Hoya. Not sure on the fit though.
