Great picture, and this is exactly one reason why I bought this lens. In places where it's cumbersome to setup a tripod or carry one with you, this lens is really the only alternative out there!

The IS is worth every penny. I'm saving for a 70-200 f/2.8 IS next.

As is the constant 2.8 aperture. The 17-55 and 70-200 f/2.8 IS make a fantastic combo. You will enjoy.
