unfortunately i was struggling that night....I was trying my best to shoot at lowest ISO as possible with a slow shutter speed...but they are far from tack sharp...my tripod is really unstable so that could lead to the reason for my problems....
just wanted to share a night rain pic...pic was taken at ward starbucks in honolulu. pic was taken with 24-105L.
as always constructive critisim is always good! :)

I like it but the horizon isn't straight.

...so that could lead to the reason for my problems.... That looks pretty good, but the "reason for your problems" is that IT'S NIGHT? :D ...but the horizon isn't straight. Actually it's pretty hard to get everything "straight" with an extreme WA. Some light poles will always tilt a bit and it's hard to see that in the viewfinder.

Wet cars do look good :) but that location sucks :P
Did you use the timer? Even on a tripod, you'll still shake the camera a bit unless you have a remote shutter. Sweet looking car :) Those wheels look great!

I agree with MitsuJDM, I always used the 10 sec timer when shooting on a tripod because my finger moves the camera just enough to dull up the images. I really wish Canon had a 2 second timer though, waiting 10 seconds + whatever the exposure time is is a real drag :(

What about Mirror LockUp?
My hacked 300D (ie. 10D-firmware) has MLU, so I gather that a 20D has it too?
It can be set from 1½ sec over 2 to 10 sec, if I recall it correctly.

Thats interesting. I havent gotten my 20d yet (its still in the mail, should be here wed), so I havent gotten a chance to play around with it yet. But I had an unhacked 300d and the only thing I could use was the 10 second shutter.
Thanks for the info though!
