I need to decide beetween the Canon USM 28-105 f3.5 or the new Tamron 28-75 f2.8 di lens.

What would you do?

Canon but given the cost of the Tamron lens I may be tempted to save up a little bit extra and buy the Canon 28-135. Although the Tamron is hailed as being light and compact the 28-135 is only 30g heavier and is actually shorter. The 28-135 is a sweet standard walkround for the money and the extra 60mm reach on the Tamron is well worth having.

got to go with Chris on this one. If there is a way to hold off and get the 28-135 do it. The Tamron is a good lens but has to be stopped down to get it sharp. I had one and went for the 28-135IS after a month or so.

The canon 28-135 was my first lens for my 10d. The lens was good but and I loved the 28-135 focal length but I just sold it on EBAY and bought the Tamron 28-75 and the sharpness is unreal. I am happy. I picked up the Canon 70-200f4 for the larger focal lengths and so far I am happy with that too.
