Stock turbo too. 8.1 is a nice time. The images look underexposed on my monitor, but its a junk CRT at work. I'll check them again when I get home.

I miss my SRT4 :(

I diasgree, I like the shots at night. I think it adds to the overall effect. If you spend most of your time racing at night, the pictures should refect that. Why try to lie?

**Edit** - For the First and last pictures. The others are night actions, which im not a big fan of.

Ermmm what the...SRT-4's arent that powerful are they?

I thought it was usually a 2.4 litre at best...keep in mind we dont have them in Aust.

Very jealous of Noel Madarang with his M3 :(

True, something like 230 HP stock. Compared to a regular neon though, it is a lot. It's supposed to be a really really fun car though and IMO thats what matters.

Who cares if you have 1,001 HP if you can never use it?

SRT4's are rated at 230hp 250tq, usually make 220-230whp and 240-250wtq from the factory. They weigh in at around 2900lbs or so, and run bottom 14's/high 13's stone stock. I ran a 14.2@100 in my SRT4 when it was stock, and it gainted ALOT of power when I put an adjustable wastegate on it and bumped the boost from 14psi falling to 11psi at redline, to 17psi falling to 13psi at redline.

It's a FWD DOHC 2.4L with a tiny TINY turbocharger. Peak power is around 5100rpm, and the torque spikes at around 2500-3000rpm. Just for ****s and giggles, I upped the boost to 20+psi on mine, and I hit 20+psi by 2400rpm.

Did away with the Boy Racer wing I see. Looks clean. I really like the dark bronze wheels on the black paint. What do you have now?

They werent bronze at all, they were Olive Green. Actually, they were Krylon Camo Olive colored :) The only other car I ever saw with Olive green wheels was my friend who helped me paint my wheels. He has olive green Axis wheels.

Now I have a 89 Mustang GT. It's a work in progress to say the least haha. But I <3 foxbodies. It'll hopefully be getting some new wheels in the very near future.

The SRT4 is an extremely fun car though. Before I sold mine, I had Hotchkis Springs, GT cruiser Front Swaybar(+2mm over stock), ACR Rear Swaybar(+2mm), and a Kinetics Wastegate (17psi/13psi), and it was extremely fun. It pulled very hard, and it handled GREAT. I loved taking it on the backroads out in the country, and never once did the car get out of control it was perfectly balanced. The biggest thing they need stock is springs to lower it and lessen the top heavy-ness of the car, wider tires to help it stick, thicker swaybars to help body roll.

They use the same engine as the PT Crusier GT. They are quick cars.

Nice series OP.

i prefer most other types of racing to drag, so i couldnt agree more

never understood why people put slicks on to run the 1/8 (1/4) mile then put normal tyres back on. if I tune a car I want the performance all the time.

I think I read somewhere that there is a 330bhp mod, or maybe it was the Caliber? Who cares if you have 1,001 HP if you can never use it? Sometimes it just makes you shiver just to see it sitting there? :D And, when it starts...

King Kong – 528 cid & 1050 bhp (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=79430)

You'll have the performance all the time, but drag radials offer traction that street tires can't. Most drag radials aren't street legal. Why do they make track tires for cars that are street driven as well?

Just like in off roading, you air down to get more traction, at the strip, you'd put slicks on.

I'll have to agree here, they do sound amazing. I guess I just can't justify having such a high horsepower car if I never got to use it to its full potential. Same reason I sold my Wrangler now that I live in town - it doens't snow here, do I really need 4 wheel drive if I can't take it off roading?

I think the saying is, "Getting there is half the fun?" ;) do I really need 4 wheel drive if I can't take it off roading? 4WD is GREAT for packing down the driveway! I haven't shoveled mine for decades! :D

Why try to do a 1/8 mile balls to the wall run when you're just driving around normally?

If you played baseball, would you wear cleats everywhere and carry a baseball bat and helmet and glove? Or would you be impressed if some schmo showed up to a baseball game in a tshirt and jeans, normal tennis shoes, sliding around the feild because he couldnt grip the dirt, breaking his hand beacuse he tried to use his arm as a bat, dropping the ball beacuse he's trying to use his hands and not a glove.

You prepare yourself for the sport that you're playing.

I guess if you're an immature speed racer you feel the need to drag race every time you hit a stoplight. The more mature of us will continue to drive to the track, throw on some slicks and adjust our cars to perform at their best at the track, and then adjust it and drive back home.

Last time I checked I painted those wheels and I don't have olive green Axis wheels. :)

Nice series. Love the car.

Actually, the motor was developed for the SRT4 and put into the PT Cruiser GT. It is based off of the Mexican Stratus R/T which had a 2.4 turbo (although it was a normal dodge 2.4 and not the built version in the SRT4 and GT Cruiser).

I really like some of the shots! The first and last shot are my favorites  The setting is really cool and the composition, etc is good!

Let me ask you a question. Would you want to drive a higher horsepower front wheel drive car with drag slicks on the street?

I didn't think so either ;)
