While the pics do draw some curiosity...the second pic would have been better as a profile of the performer...the throat shot and no face is just not eye appealing...The composition and subject choice in pic # two is at best, poor to average...

so would something like this be better?

Image #1 is still best. I would crop and straighten it however.
I agree with John on the 'missing face' in #2.
On the last one: I like the expression. Not too clear what he's doing however.
A bigger issue (to me) is the severely blown red channel, and the disturbing background (Xmas lights)

So brunester...what is they guy in the red picture holding in his hand? It obviously is a stage shot with heavy red lighting...just can't tell what he's up to...sometimes pictures need a little bit of an explanation...their messages aren't always obvious...
Keep taking show pics and posting here...you'll be able to get more comfortable in no time...just check some of the other postings...and the way the pics are presented, and the EX IF and gear info that is included and covered...and review comment on other's work...this is a two way street.
The more information you give us about your efforts, the easier it will be to contribute constructive critiques and comments... Ask questions as well, feedback is the key to productive communication...
Just an off subject tid bit...
PS: I have an old surfing and snow and water skiing buddy from Santa Cruz...we used to ski in Tahoe for years and surf in Baja too...

That's good to know Eric.
Keep shooting away and posting here...Find some software to straighten out the first one...it's the better one of the set.
