hello in the other day i saw one photog. taking pictures to the surfers.. i saw him from far away, but i have seen that when he took photos the flash reflected in the wather, and he was at some distance.. what kind of flash it that?? ..

If he was using flash (a big 'if'), then it was a powerful one. Could be any make, and you've not given us any clues. In any case, why does the make/model matter?

No hot-shoe flash is going to do very much past 40 or 50 feet, especially in daylight. That's why I was sceptical.

He could of been using a better beamer, but most likely a strobe (2400ws?). Maybe he just used his on-camera flash to make himself look cool?

A hot shoe flash is a small flash that sits atop the camera in its "hot-shoe" (small metal connector: the flash slides into this and provides the signal to fire the flash-thus the "hot"-shoe). This type of flash usually produces much less light than a studio stobe.
