I have just bought the downloadable Photoshop CS Upgrade online, however three days now of trying has not succeeded in downloading this.
I keep getting messages that the file on the server has changed at about 10-20% complete, and therefore the download needs to restart from scratch. As I have a 128K connection, this is starting to tiresome.

I have phoned Adobe, they have no idea what is wrong, and say they I should keep trying. I have FTP's much bigger files than this, i.e. RedHat ISO's at 600MB each; this is a bit over 200MB. The file name is Photoshop_UE-UP.exe

Anyone else have these issues when downloading from Adobe?

No, mine was as smooth as can be, with a cable connection.

Can you use a "download utility" like "Get right" (there are others but the names escape me)

Or will Adobe prevent such utilities use?

These utilities will restart a disconneted download where you left off..

Adobe uses their own download manager creatively enough called "Adobe Download Manager".

It is supposed to be able to deal with breaks in connections, but it doesn't seem to be helping me. I asked the Adobe guy for an FTP instead, and he said they don't do that.

8th attempt now, at 30%, three hours to go, statistically it will fail before then.

I will try a high speed connection we have at work (real DSL, not 128K stuff), and see how I go, hopefully my chances will improve, and I will succeed!

I have dowloaded both Photoshop CS and the trial version of Illustrator without any problems. Have an ADSL connection and took just over and hour to download CS (about 150Mb).

When you download Photoshop CS are you able to burn it onto a CD? I would hate to not have a backup if my HD failed.

I burnt it onto 2 CD's!

I am extra paranoid, one stays at work off site.

You know anyone with a cable connection and a CD burner, ask them to download it for you and burn it to a CD...
