View Full Version : Question about AEB on 350D

Somehow I managed to move my AEB cursor 4/3 of a stop to the left. All of my photos are now getting underexposed. Whenever I select AEB from the menu, all I can do is control the bracketing, I can't move the center point. Somehow I dialed in exposure compensation, and I don't know how to get it back to the center.

I did this before and ended up clearing all settings to get it back. I just read the manual again, and couldn't find how to change this setting.

Anybody know how to do this? Am I making it clear what I am trying to do?

Thanks,
Lonnie

Seems that you've changed EC to -1 1/3.

To get it back to 0, set your camera to any Creative mode other than M, hold Av+/- button and turn dial 4 clicks to the right (clockwise).

...exactly.

Thanks. Started reading at pg 90 this time.

I must have been trying to change my aperture value in the wrong mode or something. I just got the new flash and was working around the AE issue by cranking my flash exposure up by 4/3. :)

My FEC is permanently on +2/3..

How do you feel that's working out for you? I've tried bracketing and unless I'm shooting still life, I can't do it. If I'm shooting candids I can miss too many shots by taking 3 shots, especially if I'm shooting RAW or RAW+JPG.

I rarely do bracketing..
I don’t have problems with +2/3 FEC.
As long as it is consistent, it’s okay.

Anyway, the most important thing is to understand that you can use EC and AEB, both at the same time, to make the combination that suites you best.

Yeh, I was on top of that, I just couldn't find how to set EC, except for on accident. Thanks again.
