Hi everyone,
I am a happy EOS 50 user and want to switch to D30
in the next days. Since I´ve been lurking in this forum for quite a while, I feel prepared for all the possible problems. :-) (Thank you all very much for your insightful posts!)

I will visit Costa Rica in june (rain period, very damp and -well - rainy). My EOS 50 has performed flawlessly in similar conditions and still does after five years.

The D30 obviously is a more delicate piece of equipment. What shall I do to keep her safe, or do I have to keep her at home?

Thanks
Patrick

There is a company called EwaMarine that makes a bag for taking SLR's underwater up to about 20 feet that is thick plastic and has like a filter you screw the lense onto. I have an underwater system so I don't take my SLR diving and I don't know if I would trust this bag underwater but it might be perfect for the conditions you describe.

I'm not sure where you are, but just about any dive shop in the US can get them, and I'm sure there are some places you can get them online

Hope This Helps,

Bobby

Bobby, thank you very much.
Ewa-marine headquarters is just a few kilometers away from where I live (munich, germany).
I´ll just stop by and have a look at their equipment.

Again, thanks a lot.

If you want to truly have a waterproof camera there's always:

though that's probably not what you're looking for...
