Ever feel the pressure of city motion... as if individuals enter a vortex tugging them along? Ever felt caught in their currents?

The tunnel is sucking me right into the scene, the light guides me - what is waiting around the corner? The yellow cab - a symbol for coming and going, for anonymity, for travelers trying to reach their destination, just as anyone is. The city, the point where the striving for the goal is so dense... even if the goal is very unclear to most. Is it my cab? Do I need to hurry to catch it? Will I miss the chance of my life, if I don't?
cheers

Appreciate your reactions... I'm off onto a series of these vertical comment graphics. They pop when printed somewhat smaller.. say 5X7 in light mats and then arranged in simple - equal proportioned frames along a single surface. I've printed the short captions next to each. Viewer reactions are, so far, are nicely rewarding - and refreshingly thougtful. I hope that the series, when finished will read like a short essay.Or maybe I'll change my mind tomorrow.... It's a very unpredictable mind

Nope... I only carried one once in the past ten years. I wound up cursing the thing. This is a very wide angle, shot during mid day... I'm up to stabilizing that combo pretty well. :)

Thanks for the reassurance. When I approach one of my abstracts... I worry that people will notice the scenery instead of the play and not get what I'm trying to do. You guys are good to understand that this image is about more than a photographer with a terribly shaking hand...:D

Again TByrne makes one think about more than form and colour with his insight and creativity.
That's what good photography can do.

Very interesting. Can your describe your technique for us? I am trying to learn how to take some of these shots with the camera in motion. John

Very nice pic, it does seem like a vortex. Or wormhole. Maybe it leads to the Delta Quadrant? I watch too many Star Trek shows.
