Hello,
I'm new to EE, so first of all, I want to thank Pekka for this really cool application :)

Well, I've just installed all the fix and update packs till RC2 and requested Lunarpages admin to move my account to a Imagemagick supporting server, asking for php's safe mode off, or imagemagick placed in an EXEC DIR.
I asked for the "convert" and "composite" paths too.

Well, they moved my account quickly and without any problem. If I run a server info script, it shows imagemagick installed now

They didn't provide any specific imagemagick path, but the path to pearl "/usr/bin/perl", which I suppose is o.k., since EE says "path ok" for both convert and composite programs.

The problem is that it doesn't matter what graphic module test I run, I always get the red x box
GD2 works fine though

Any idea of what I may have done wrong?
It could be the path, despite EE says it is o.k.?
Thanks
David Nolla

P.S. : FWIW, I'm very happy with Lunarpages service and support

http://www.photography-on-the.net/ee/beta/setup_upload_system.php

Go through the various steps of the setup, if the path of ImageMagick is ok look at "3. RESIZE METHOD SETUP".

I've checked the setup process while waiting a response from Lunarpages.
Boy, they are fast! :D

The problem was the path. I don't know the reason EE reports it is ok (perhaps EE detects something in some way?)

This is the reply from Lunarpages support (perhaps it can help somebody here too) :

Hi,

When using ImageMagick to convert files you need to use the following path:
/usr/local/bin/convert
the executable parts of ImageMagick commands in: /usr/local/bin/

/usr/bin/perl is the path to perl [ ]

I hope this is helpful.

All is o.k. now

Some providers has set PHP to return a verbal error message when exec function is called and it fails. This is why IM test gives wrong answer is some servers - it runs the program and program returns "something". I'll see later if that can be worked around.

Im running on Lunarpages and don't have any problems. I know that not all of their servers run all the same software, I am running on "Valina".
