well this is from a local band... Wedding Banned (and where my message board name comes from) this was my first time shooting a show, very dark, kit lens. some shots i used a 430ex... let me know what you think. i can take the abuse. the rest of the pictures are on my flickr page

rule number one of concert photography, fast glass is a must. kit lens will not get the job done. flash (more times than not) takes away from what was really going on. go out and get a thrifty 50.

yup, i am picking up the nifty this weekend and will try it again... that is the one thing i noticed too. thanks for the comments

These are actually very, very good for a first timer with a kit lens!

I actually like #1, but I think you'd need a sort of similar picture with the woman sharp in picture in the series, to sort of "introduce" her.

#3 is very nice.

#6 is the best IMO, but you should add more brightness.

Agree wit Kalle, but like #3 best.
Some quite nicely balanced flash images.
