These guys are fantastic. Great hooks. Take a date to see them. They are among my favorite unsigned bands I've photogged. They're based in Baltimore, MD. I think even the older adults would like their hooky rock/pop.

Awesome. 2 and 4 are my favorites. I like the lighting in 2 and seeing the whole band. What type of 15mm and 50mm lens are you using?

thanks guys,
the 15mm is f2.8 fisheye which I do some straightening in PS (lens distort filter) and crop
the 50mm is the 1.4, #3 and #4 I believe are at f1.4
all shot at iso1600

Nice. #3 could have used a bit more headroom though, and I'm sure #4 will draw comments on the headstock being cropped, if only just. (would have been great otherwise)
Overall, I like #1 best I think. Pity the left guy is a bit too dark (could be brightened in post I think), and the right is a bit blocked by the stand. (not too much though)

No.2 and the drummer show what it was like when the lights were on. Most of th show was very dark. The usual light guy wasn't there so the soundman had to run lights and sound at th same time.
I will have to post a before and after sho.

No.4 is IMHO the best of the set, good capture of him getting into it, and the drummer is pretty sweet too, What did the shots taken with the 15mm look like with out PPing them to make them straight?
The color of the drums matches your big Watermark. lol

Considerable difference from the before and after's...It's a good thing you are able to recover these this way.
From your original set at the top...I still like the 4 and 5 (I checked them out when you first posted them)...however, number two, has a lot of interesting action packed into one photo... sections of it divided into one, two or all three musicians, would all make for an excellent capture...to get the triple here is fantastic...

Thanks John. There's a bunch of people that I would love to try processing a raw image of and see what I come up with versus theirs.
Bump for some of the others that want to see a before and after.

Nice set of photos, you've captured some good moments and expressions.
Here's a few thoughts:
I'm a bit distracted of the tightness of #4 (and #3 to a lesser extent). Since every side is so tightly cropped, it sort of feels that you've forced the performer into a box, if you catch my drift.
I also like the "before" shot of #1, although the small image size (the performers are again smaller in that) and the lack of web sharpening distract me. But I like the extra space and the distortion :).
Make a RAW-image available and I'd be happy to try it out (if you want, you can PM me - and other interested photographers you can trust - concerning its location, if you don't want to make a full size image available).
