To anybody who already has a D60, how big on average are the CRW files it generates? The actual CRW file itself, not the image decoded out of it.

I normally use a pair of 1gb Microdrives with my D30. When one fills up, I switch to the other one and keep shooting while the first one is copied off to my laptop.

I can get about 260 CRW files on my D30 with the 1gb Microdrive, and I'm just curious to know how many I'll be able to expect with the D60, which I've got on order.

I was very lucky to get my D60 on March 29 from Oceanside Photo in Southern California! Average size for the RAW format is 8.5 Megabytes.

Wow, that's like almost 3 times bigger than the D30's files. I was hoping it would be a linear step up to 2x the size, but I guess not.

I hope that DVD-R discs start to get cheaper soon, as that's what I'm generally using for storage.

Yes, I could use cheap CD-R discs and a fast burner, but then I'd have to sit at the PC for an hour or two swapping discs every few minutes. I'd rather spend $5.00 on a DVD-R.
