For a fashion show shoot,. I usually like to see the entire person,. head to toe if possible. When we crop out part of the model we could be cropping out part of the ensemble.. which is a bit of a loss.
You had a great spot it looks like right up front on the runway!
Who was the butcher that did the lighting??? He needs a stearn talking to ROFL
You sure nailed the White balance though (despite what looks like some overhead flourescent??? ) well done! :)
The Second image is a lot of fun. :)

Thanks for the feedback. You are spot on (pardon the pun) with regards to the bad lighting setup (bad for photographers that is). I was right in front of the catwalk and there were 4 spotlights pointing directly towards me from the far end of the catwalk. I had to wait until the models were close enough (or to zoom in) to avoid all 4 of the spotlights glaring at the camera directly.
I used the auto white balance feature to allow the camera to decide which was the best setting as the lighting changed constantly. However, as I took the photos in RAW mode, I could then use Photoshop CS to change the white balance from 'As Shot' to 'Auto' to correct any problems. All photos had a fixed apeture of f2.8 to get as much background blur as possible and to ensure the highest shutter speed.
The photos were taken with a Canon EOS 10D, 24-70 USM L lens (with hood) at ISO 400.
