I use PS 7.0 and usually work with embedded color profiles that are generated from my ColorVision Spyder. For example, when the .tif file opens, it will ask me to use the embedded profile and I 99% of the time I do.

Now when I want to create a Picture Package (File - Automate - Picture Package) and go through the steps, it seems as though I cannot use the embedded profile. Picture package only uses under Mode: Grayscale, RGB, CYMK, and Lab. Any of these result in a color mismatch from the embedded.

I also tried converting the original document (with the ColorVision embedded profile) to RGB, then opening the Picture Package, but still no luck here.

Is there anyone out there that can guide me to use a Picture Package that would match the original color of the embedded profile? Please help, and thanks in advance for anyone posting a reply.

Thanks,

Martin

The "modes" RGB, CMYK, Lab, etc. refer to color models, not ICC profiles.

You undoubtedly edited your original image in RGB mode, and that's what you should use for Picture Package (PP). Once the PP image is created, then "assign" (not convert) the ICC profile you want to embed in the image. Goto the menu bar: Image | Mode | Assign Profile and choose the correct profile.

When you save the PP image as a TIF file, the assigned profile can be embedded if you choose to. If your printing workflow is set up to recognize embedded profiles, it will be.

Hope that helps.
