this is one I took in very difficult lighting, with action. Let me know what you think.

Well, congratulations for joining the forum Bignerd...we gotta get you started here on the right track...to enter the fast lane right away... it's best to join a free third party photo storage service... there are several to choose from... I use photobucket.com... with it you'll be able to export your pictures to it (max siz should be 800x800) and simply copy the pic's URL into your posting... this will give you the eight max pics allowed for posting in the new threads that you start...

Also download the EXIF program and spelling checker from my signature, it only takes a minute or two.

The image you posted offers a great subject and has very nice composition...the shadows on the faces might look like make up or just stage lighting, can't tell...the more pics with some variety that you post per thread, the more enthusiasm will be generated from this sections viewers...

Check the info in the Sticky's: at the top of the front page of this section too...lots of helpful info for participation, is included to make things a lot easier down the road...

Keep posting here and if you are able to participate in critiques and comments in this section, you will be pleasantly surprised at how much positive info you'll gather.

Nice subject, and well exposed.
On both images, you cropped off part of the rightmost person. Pity.
Also, I would have liked a bit more faces: Both images are 'backs' allmost exclusively.

You might watch for postings of ballet by Rutt here ... he shoots Boston and does amazing post processing to create works of art from similar venues. It is certainly that case that your biggest problem is composition: chopping people off and shooting backs, in both posts.

Welcome!

Dont pull your hair out trying to get good shots in these tough venues...good luck and keep posting. I would offer advice, but yours are already better then mine
