Hey guys,

I've noticed my A70 has a very nice pattern of scratches on the display - I was not-so-smart and carried it in my pocket the whole day :-P Any way to get these out? Do you guys know if the display is class or plastic?

Thanks in advance,
-Ivan Y

You can get a polish kit that works for LCD displays. I bought one in Radio Shack. It's designed for cell phones but works on the camera too. After you polish you might want to get an LCD protector screen. It's a coated plastic sheet that clings to the LCD plastic when placed over the LCD screen, protecting it. It's not really glue and leaves no residue when you remove it. I got this also from Radio Shack. I've had mine on for several months. I'm satisfied. When you put the screen on you may see little bubbles. Rub them in lightly following the instructions but don't worry, they eventually clear on their own.

Apparently Canon uses a very soft scratchable plastic on the LCDs of these cameras. I had a Casio for several years and it never developed scratches.

These products are nearly bulletproof. I have had one on my S50 camera for six months (put it on the first day with the camera). The camera has had abuse in my pocket and tossed in a back pack and the screen and the protector look brand new.
