Took this photo in Harvard Square, this guy dances and hangs out in the Square often. I used a didgital rebel xt, 28-135mm lens from across the street. Cropped in PS.

I like the picture, but it looks like you missed the focus. A little more separation between the subject and background would be nice too, maybe try taking with a larger aperture?

Thanks Citizen, I know it's out of focus but it is one of those shots that I can't do over-I feel I captured it at the right time, if only the focus...

thanks for the C&C!

Real. That's great! At college, it rained for weeks straight. Some guy wore all yellow raingear and protested the rain. It was great! I love a good display.

Very nice capture, full of possibilities. I like the way he is juxtaposed against the vodka advertisement. Pity about the slight OOF, but if he is a regular in that area you can always go back and reshoot. Next time move in closer and use the wide end of your zoom. The bonus would be greater depth of field, a bit more handholdable shutterspeed for the focal length, and a wider perspective.

BTW, Suzy, fancy meeting you here :)

"hell fire and, brimstone on the sins of drinking Vodka". Great candid photo, very well timed.

Fancy that, indeed. :)

If he had it on focusing to the center, that would explain the lack of focus on the man. He also must have been moving around. I went to NYC last time with only my 50 1.4 and the 20D. It was definitely not wide enough to do much and had too much brokeh. Stepping back or forward may have helped.

Thanks for the compliments and suggestions. The guy was back out there today but I have been keeping my camera inside due to the cold weather....

I'll try for another shot and post it here, they changed the sign, right now I think it's advertising for a bank, it's a huge dollar bill or some type of currency...

Thanks-

Joe

Nice shot! Harvard Square really is a fun place even when it is freezing cold. I used to live just a few blocks away and I really missed Cambridge.
