We are happy to announce the official release of YarcPlus V1.5.
We have been in public beta for several months and we thank all of the people who have been supportive and made great suggestions to enhance our product.
New in this release...
D60 Support via the new Canon Digital Camera SDK V1.0. In an effort to make D60 support available as quickly as possible there are a few exceptions to the D60 support...
--No support for Exposure Compensation (will be in V1.5.1 within a few days at most)
--No support for Tone Curves (also in V1.5.1)
--No support for small conversion preview (we are in discussions with Canon)
--No picked WB possible due to lack of small conversion preview.
Support for the Canon 1D will be included in V1.5.2 which is planned within 1 week or sooner.
(Thumbnail display mode which was planned for now will be available soon after that).
And...
D30 and other conversions are now about 20% faster than with previous converters. On my machine an 11 second 16-bit TIFF (with FCF) is now about 8 seconds with YarcPlus V1.5.
I will post all of the details of the release in the FAQ section of our Message Board at our site shortly, and there is information on the front page of our site right now.
A Registration Key is now required for YarcPlus to operate in Full mode, but without a key it will run
in Evaluation mode, allowing you to use all functionality with the only differences from the Full
version is that there are no JPEG extractions, and that all conversions have a subtle but permanant watermark in them. This system should give you every opportunity to make sure that YarcPlus is a good tool for your work before you decide to purchase it.
All suggestions and questions are welcome at support@YarcPlus.com or on our message board.
We hope that you try YarcPlus and enjoy it.
The original Yarc (written by Bruce Henderson) was the first practical RAW converter released for Canon RAW, a little over a year ago. Bruce and I are very happy to now bring you the next evlotuion of Yarc.
BTW..Registered users of YarcClassic may upgrade for free. Email to YarcUpgrade@yarcplus.com
Thanks from both of us...
