Excellent composition, fantastic shadow.
But I just don't get the sense of motion - perhaps because the raceway is so fine grained? I think it would convey motion better if something large was seen to be blurred.
Also, the shadow (did I mention it was fantastic?) also suggests stop-action, so it might need some powerful blurred objects.

any tips on how to follow something that fast and keep it in focus while creating blur. The shadows of the fence are blurred but they should be more blurred??

A slightly slower shutter speed will help, but I think the key is to get a very distinct object to be blurry. You might actually have enough blur - it's just that the fence shadows and concrete don't show blur very well.

I really like it
The colours and positioning are great, as are the shadows
There's definitely a sense of motion there. If you fix your eyes on a particular point of the picture ( I chose between the bike shadow and fence shadow) then it feels as though it is actually moving. You can almost see the bike shadow coming closer
One to be proud of :)

Well, what a fabulous shot! I really do like it. The only thing I think I would have preferred to see is the whole bike/rider shadow but even so, I am impressed!
Thanks for posting

Try standing with your shoulders parallel to where it will be when you take the pic so your weight is balanced when you snap the shutter. Focus on where it will be & then switch to MFocus.
Follow through with your pan even after the shutter clicks to avoid a 'hesitation' at the 'moment of truth'.
...while creating blur.
WAY to many variables to answer that! Subject speed, pan speed, shutter speed, focal length, distance from the vehicle, etc. Experiment. Review. Experiment some more. I've played with shutter speeds down to 1 sec & got some nice results. The ratio of 'nice' to 'crappy' was about 50 to 1, but we don't pay for film, do we?
