Hey, what ever happened to global warming
It's almost Spring here in Blighty and we got snow the like of which I ain't seen since my ol' granpa shook the dandruff off his jacket in 1987
So, the task is to go shoot the view from your door or window, or where ever, so it's all saved to show our own grandkids, when half the world is gonna be underwater and we're all living like it's the tropics ... hurrah for all them there CFC's that come out a cows ass and our fridges and cars ... or whatever!!
Here's mine taken from my office window around 6.30pm tonight just before I left to tramp home in the slush.

Every one around us is getting walloped but here we are with barely an inch. I suppose that'll change soon enough.

condyk,
Well all through January we were suffering from Global Warming but then February came and the temps dropped significantly. So I went to take a photo out my window and ended up with this:
Snow Glass

Then I realized I would have to open the window  so I opened the window and saw/captured this:

The snow is melting, temps are up (25F/-4C) and the sun is shining. I can almost feel spring in the air.:) This is one of the main deer routes through the neighborhood.

No artist merit required: all we need is snow y'all ;-)
From the latest lot I'm especially liking Imran's lone postbox and the kind street snow scene I ain't seen for many a year. Also Donny Boys psycho-killer scene with 'No Trespassing' sign and Jacks 'what the f***' is that scene.

Any Buffalo or upstate NY folks out there. Show us some real snow. In Chicago we only have 2 or 3 inches. Not even worth taking a picture of much less posting.

Here are two shots of the "global warming" that has fallen on our town. The first was my lawn tractor trying in vain to move a drift in the driveway. Lucky we have neighbors with farm implements. The second is a view slightly to the right of the first one taken 52 days later. I've lived here since 1974 and have never seen the like!

Excellent stuff ...
... and Jacks 'what the f***' is that scene.
It is shot through an ice covered leg of an overhead walkway (closed for years) on the Grand Haven, Michigan Pier. The light house is in the background. I would have liked a bit better compostition, but the snow covered ice made footing bad enough that the shot you got was going to be good enough. It is not the smartest place for a hike in the winter.

quick snap here.
Deleted one from my window, but found this of my back yard. It was about a month ago. No snow now.
Edit: not at the time of the photo, but a while after my pool froze over about 2.5 inches.

Tomorrow, freezing rain here in VA. Should be great for macro shots, I'd say. You'll have to wait until then.

Or please don't  This is no winter  Today we had f*** summer... +13c in middle of winter. This winter I was on skis less then 20 times (not including when I was shooting skiing, because skiing down the slope with 300/2.8 attached to monopod and carried over shoulder doesn't count as skiing)... this is truly pathetic, and we are thinking of moving to my wife's home country Finland, where they at least have some snow.
PS: If someone wants to exchange some snow for this summer here I'm happy to trade :)

Here's two shots through the front window after shoveling fot the third time in 24 hours. Had to shovel to get in the driveway after work. We got somewhere between 12 and 18 inches in the last day and a half. They called it a classic panhandle hook, never heard that one before. Supposed to get a few more inches overnight from lake effect snow.
