Start word...on the Tools menu, go to options and then the spelling & grammar tab...it will let you choose your preferred dictionary...select US English and you should be back on track.

Restart the system and see if that changes it. Nothing in windows ever works without a reboot.

Sounds like an incompatibility with Office 2K7 and IE6. Like IE6 can't cope with the O2K7 dictionary. Maybe MS wants you to upgrade to IE7. My OE6 Tools | Options | Spelling has several English and French dictionary options, but I'm not running O2K7.

I think it has to be part of this whole new Office-Vista mishmash that MS is trying to pawn off...they can't even make their own stuff play together...

We just ran into this on a bigger scale at work. We do a lot of work with relational database platforms (Oracle, UDB, SQLServer) and we just discovered that SQLServer (Microsoft's own RDBMS) won't work with Vista so we have to warn all of our customers to not install it if they want their databases to work. Crazy!

Don't you mean:
Commencez word... sur le menu d'outils, allez aux options et puis l'étiquette d'épellation et de grammaire... elle vous laissera choisir votre anglais choisi préféré des USA de dictionnaire... et vous devriez être de retour sur la voie.
