I just want to give credit to all of you long-time members, who respond with such class to those of us (newbies) who ask all of those questions that have been asked hundreds of times before.

The search feature can be a wonderful thing. :)

That is what puts POTN at the top. The members of most other forums quickly forget they were the new kid at one time and that they own all the right gear and no one else does.

We all have to be beginners at one time or another. The nice thing about this forum is the wealth of information, and more importantly, the friendliness of the members.

thats what initially impressed me with this forum... how friendly everyone seemed and their willingness and eagerness to help. consequently i've learned a great deal. i think its great that there are thousands of members that span the gamut of experience yet responses never contain any snobbery or elitism that can discourage inexperienced members who already feel in over their heads.

so, thank you to all and i'm glad i can help out as well, even if its mainly just in raw/post processing.

Just Be...Isn't it written somewhere about treating others as we would like to be treated?

Thats one reason why this forum has lasted as long as it has.

Thanks to the beginners too for bringing fresh eyes to the table. Sometimes as Photographers we're looking with our training and know what is supposed to look good. Having fresh eyes willing to say what they think of a photo better prepares us for working with clients.

That is, until the fresh eyes get quickly tainted with the same photography knowledge. ;)

Everyone has been a beginner at one time. I was a beginner too once and now that I know more, I'd like to pay back to help other newbies. I call it "Pay it Forward" and it never fails to work. So one day you'll be paying your knowledge forward too!

Welcome to the forum!

Huh? What forum are you talking about? When I first signed up I got slapped around by all the old-timers on this forum and still do to this day!

Just a fewer hours ago I had to bring all the mods fresh coffee! And what's the thanks I get? A "Nice job, rookie!" and a firm slap on the ass is what!

I'm so ashamed. :(

Yep, everyone has been a great help to me. I help where I can. I just won't go in the wedding photography forum anymore, those guys can be a tad grouchy, geez.

When I was 17, I knew everything. Then I joined the Navy.......and some old, crusty Senior Chief showed me that I didn't know anything.

Something I like about this forum is that they have the rule like "don't tell the newbie to search the forum, tell them where the info is at." uh something like that if I don't remember it wrongly. . .. eh?
