The images look great. I also see that the new Canon lenses announced at PMA were also used. I can't wait. Adorama told me two things today. 1. They are looking to fill the first orders in about a month
2. My order will be filled in by their first shippment.
Hey if they are lying to me.......it is a good lie.

It just keeps getting better. :)
These have outstanding clartiy and detail. And It's noice to see how it does with the particular lenses... especially seeing as how a few he tested I allready have! :)

Not bad pictures but not nearly as good as I was expecting to see. None of the shots I've seen so far do the camera its true justice. Most of the people here have produced superior quality with their 10D's.

I'm looking foward to the first shipments so that the guys around here can post some shots. I'd like to see what the camera can really do in the hands of those who have already shown us their abilities.

Perhaps your expectations are too high. While it doesn't really say the images posted above could be "right out of the camera" with the exception of RAW processing.

For me, I can hardly wait to get mine. I know fully well that the images are going to be better than my 10D all other things being equal.

There are a few images on pbase taken with the MK II. Here is the link

Yep - there's too many very talented photographers here that will really show this camera's capability. I'm anxious to see what folks here can do with their new Mark II.

Those are low compression JPEG's. I took one, applied AdobeRGB, sharpened with 150/.8/0 and saved as sRGB JPEG: http://photography-on-the.net/01_24_70_01.jpg
(copyright of course http://homepage.mac.com/ipi/mark2/1D2.html, I hope they don't mind)

The amount of detail is remarkable - way beyond 10D. And nice thing was that simple USM looks and works better than e.g. Photokit Sharpener I tried on it (PKS had difficulties e.g. with chicken wire on top of building) - USM got more detail out without artifacts.

now those images in the link you posted are more of what I expected to see.

I don't see how expectations could possibly be too high. It's a $4500 camera with $1500 glass attached. I'm sure it's going to be capable of greatness. That's what I was talking about, seeing shots that show what the camera is capable of. There are many who use this forum who will be able to show this camera at its very best. I'm really looking foward to that.

TomW: I'm definately with you there.

Pekka: I can certainly see the amount of detail in that processed photo you linked. Thanks. Much improved. I think we are going to be amazed when this thing hits the streets.
