Looking to get either a tripod or monopod to be used for general purpose that must be light enough for hiking. Am considering a Manfrotto Modo 785B. Any thoughts and/or better suggestions? My stuff--Rebel XTI, Sigma 17-70, nifty 50, future will have a Canon 70-200 f/4. Thank you for the help!

I've got the 785B - it's not listed as suitable for SLRs, although the weight it's rated for will happily support my XT and kit lens. I gather from these forums that it's not really suitable if you're going to be having huge lenses hanging off the front of your camera.
