EF 50mm 1.8 III USM with metal mount, ring USM, distance scale and a good build for $250.
50mm 1.8 MKIII.
I think I have used my 50/1.8 maybe 3 times since I got it. The AF is just so horrible that I use my 24-60 sigma instead
My recommendation would be to just fork over the dough for the 50mm f/1.4 lens. It's just a bit above $300, MUCH better build quality and AF as compared to the 1.8 version. I've been very pleased with the build quality and IQ. Unless you guys use the cheaper one only because it's lighter. There's a reason it only retails for $80.
