There are a couple of different ways.. you can create the whole gallery using one of the picture gallery forms, or you can do the pictures individually.
Gallery:
click on Insert (or use the icon): then Web Component : then Photo Gallery and then set up your gallery by following the steps.
Individual Pictures:
click on Insert: then Picture : then From File : choose the picture and it'll load onto the page. Then right click on the picture in the page, and click Auto Thumbnail (or just hit Ctrl-T) _ the picture will then shrink to a thumbnail and create a link to the actual picture.
To select how the thumbnail will display:
click on Tools: Page Properties : Auto Thumbnails : then set your preference.
These methods should work on FP2002 and FP2003 for sure, and maybe FP2000 (can't remember that far back). There is usually more than one way or navigation path to get to any given feature.
was that what you were looking for?

Thanks for the help, that did it.
What size do you save your picture as for web pages.

I would highly suggest getting Breeze Browser for creating your web galleries. It has been the best money I have spent. I use frontpage for the web and then manually link the Breeze Browser created galleries to the frontpage web. It is easy, fast and very customizable.
Check out my galleries for an example.
