I dont get it, if they are looking for more exposier (no pun intended) then they should put it in the correct forum, most of the time i just close the thread if i ever even open it in the first place.
I'm not tyring to be a downer but i just dont get the point of having differnt forums on this message board if ya'lls aints gonna use em

I agree, however, there are exceptions (i.e. comparing photos taken by different lenses to show if one is better or not -or- demonstrating a particular idea or concept that only applies to a certain camera).
But, you're right, most photos should be in the Share or Critique Forums.

"More and more" :?:
Haven't noticed that myself. There is the wildly popular post regarding the 50/1.4 as a portrait lens which was an open invitation for everybody to post their favorite 50mm pic on the EOS forum, but I personally thought that was a great thread.
Otherwise, the occasional errant post on the EOS forum that belongs in the one of the "Shared Photos" forums doesn't ruin my day. In fact, it sometimes brightens my day.
Lighten up timmyquest. We all make mistakes in posting from time to time.

I move roughly a dozen topics every day as it stands,.
(not just picture related) thus far this morning all I had was a printing question in EOS.. how that could be posted in EOS when there is a forum the word "Printing" in the title ,. now that baffles me. :)
Most of the images that I don't move out of the EOS forum,. are because the thtread is more hardware related, it just happens to have images as well..
If we wanted to be strict about it,. I'd be moving about 25 percent or more of the thtreads posted.. all the image tank x-drive stuff.. cf cards,. none of that is specific to the EOS forum... :)
Certainly,.it would make my life a little easier if people would pay alittle more attention to where they post things,.
My favorite threads begin;
"I guess I should post this in Post processing... but..."
And then I move it to post processing and wonder.. :?:

And CDS would be moving all of my posts to the Recycled Duck Photograph Forum

Frankly, I am one to post pictures to the EOS forum if it will illustrate a point. Sometimes, a picture or two is worth a thousand words WRT describing a situation, problem, solution, or the effects of some photographic action.
Now, that's not to say that some threads don't need re-locating, but I'm not one to get too strict on that issue. :)

No, i know that there are threads like this. I'm member of quiet a few boards and there is always one forum where people feel the need to put everything because its' the most general forum and thats where most people "hang out". I'm just getting the feeling that the EOS forum is falling victim, it's funny in a sence.

you were talkin about people who make threads titled "Cool shot I took this morning" or "Wow a duck crapped on my head" being in the "Post Processing" or the "Canon G-series" forum right ... ? Illustrating a point is a whole other book.

People don't think, get confused, or are so used to hanging out at a certain forum, they don't even know others exist. I've been guilty of posting my G3 photos on the Gx forum without thinking.
Bad baby, bad baby.

If there's a "duck crapped on my head" thread, please post a link. :)
OK, seriously, I rarely see a regular photo post in the EOS forum, but occasionally, it happens. And there probably is some truth to it being the "place where everyone is" to a certain extent. Its human nature to congregate among ones peers.
It just doesn't bother me all that much. Now if I had to weed through a ton of pictures to get to an equipment post in an equipment forum (or if I had to weed through a pile of equipment posts to get to a picture in the photo forums), then I'd be bothered by it. But as long as people mostly police themselves, I'm OK with it.
