I need a macro lens for work.product shots and similar. No interest in shooting little insects.so I want to buy a sigma 50/2.8 macro or 105mm.
I have a 10d.
Need some advice.

gogo,
Both fine macro lenses and both useful for more than just macro work.
However the 105mm will allow you to work further away from the subject when at minimum focusing distance if that is a concern.

That can be a concern when lighting is considered. I've used a 12 mm macro ring with my 17-40 and you can get so close that the lens hood will block your external lighting if you aren't careful. I'm getting very close physically with that combination.
So, the longer telephoto macro might be a good solution in that situation.
