Newby's in Memphis, my friends played. Charlie went into a solo that lasted 10 minutes or so. I've never seen him play so hard. But he did Stranglehold too (Ted Nugent for the musically impaired) and was impressive.

This is a very nice sequence...The colors accentuate the grays very nicely...
I worked quite a bit on the reds and grays in post processing last week... and I found that if you can adjust the gray zones of the shadows, it gives the pic a lot more "pop".

Good deal, thanks for the compliment.

One man band? I agree with John about the coloring. And your buddy plays in sweats with all those arm braces ... how unusual! :-)

I agree with John and Dwight ... take a moment and think of the cosmic implications of that and be very afraid my friend, be very afraid :)
#3 is sensational. Poster shot there. Just slightly soft/hazy.

Man, it even looks like the Rapture outside today!

I tried getting the others. The blue Gels up front ruin more images I do there next to movement. Two of them are out too so where the stage right person is winds up being too dark. I don't know what to tell you about the armband though!

He stole it from a tennis player!
Nice set of shots.

I think these are good, just dont have much of a Pop (As John Said) to them, but have captured some energy, but is there any other shots of the rest of the band? any at all?

I'll have to look. I'm not fond of the blue gels they have up front. They're so harsh that you can't do much with correcting them. I'll look and see if anything else is worth of putting up.

Ooookay.
Taco is Taco when he's singing. Not a lot of variety there!

But I fixed the blue in this one!

If the front gels are blue, you did quite a bit of WB-ing. Shot RAW? If so, IMO a bit more pleasing skin tone should be possible. You could do two conversions: One for pleasing skin tone, one for nice BG colors...
If you shot jpg, you've just found a reason to shoot RAW ;)
Apart from the skin tones and the clipping in the last two: Nice images.

i think you did good for that room. newby's is hard. was jason running sound/lights? i would always hit him up to give me a little extra light for a song or two. he never had a problem with it. at least it wasn't on the bar side ;)
i rene made great points. in fact, i would like to hear more about how to do two conversions.

Yeah Jason was there. He's still doing FOH and lights. My first time in there I asked him to hook me up and he gave them all they had. I'll try more CWB up front next time. Although I shot raw, it's pretty obvious I didn't do too good on getting the blue out. Those cans are pretty hot.

Quite simple really: You do two conversions with a different WB (and/or exposure)
A Quicktime tutorial about blending two different exposures from one RAW: click (http://www.thelightsrightstudio.com/videos/BlendedExposures.mov)
You can off course also use the airbrush to mask the two images....
