My frriend asked me to post a question for him here. He has a large collection of Minolta lenses and he wonders if there exists a DSLR that he can use his lenses on it.
Thanks

Sure. There's adapters for just about anything, but you will not get AF or AE out of any of them. Not really worth it, IMO, but different strokes...

Thanks for the answer. Actually, the guys prefers to set everything, including focus, manually. Do you know about any particular adapter and places that sell it?
Thanks again

Minolta is supposedly working on their own brand version of the DSLR. Not sure when it's coming out but it might be worth it for him to research that angle if wants to keep his Minolta lenses. But I can't tell you if his lenses are going to work with the new DSLR unless it's the AF type.

No sure don't. Just Google it. Type in Minolta Canon Adapter and maybe add lens into the fray too. You might also just try Minolta Adapter and let that see what it can find.

In fact Minolta just announced their first DSLR. Take a look at http://www.steves-digicams.com/diginews_feb2004.html#maxxum7.

8mp and a built-in IS into the CAMERA. It'll be interesting to see how well they perform. Not sure I'd want a gyro in my camera though. The cameras kind of have that odd Alien look to them. I expect some freaky creature to come flying out of the lens. That huge overhang for rthe penta-prism I guess is what looks weird about them.
Thumbs down on EVF. Eewwwww!
I don't think this camera takes other lenses?
