I really like the yellow boat shot. I kept scrolling back to it. Any horizontal shots of the boat? Lots of wasted space in the sky...I would have cropped in just a little. Horizon seems to tilt to the left a bit too, maybe just me.

Yea thanks I can see that. I'll try and get it sorted

#3: All mood . It wanders into the mellowness of a soft summery place we have inside. I like the way it distills out everthing but the charm of a shady moment away from things anxious. It is where the best Windham Hill once took me. You have captured visually what George Winston does with his hands. It is to be hung, and escaped to when the day's acid spikes.

Thanks for sharing,

Ted

I liked #3 and #4 shots a lot. And I agree with others that the boat shot would look better in horizontal with less sky

I really like the first two, but the horizon is a little off kilter.

Wow, Ted. I felt all that when I saw #3, but I sure didn't have all the words to express it until I read your comment. Well said. Keep up the good word.

Thanks for sharing, messy_da_legend, and I can see why these would be your favorites. Yes, #4 should be cropped.

Thanks for your feedback. How far would you personaly crop the boat pic? I'm thinking keeping half of the blue in.

The boat is certainly the main focus. Could you crop out enough of the sky to place the boat in the lower-left third intersection? Rule of Thirds.

Agreed, keep to the rule of thirds. And if you were aiming to keep the blue of the sky in, crop to where the blue begins to fade a little (also rotated CW 2degrees)...or right about here...

No problem, but I think it should be Thank YOU for capturing the image and allowing us a glance. Of course since you have the original, it will look much better.

Right I have now edited the original. I rotated it only 1deg CW as I think 2deg tilted it slightly too far ;)

Also used healing brush to get rid of a spec that was a flying seagull, and the sky has also been cropped, so here is the final:

Thanks for all your help!

Also, what do you guys think of the tree photo. I'm thinking its a little bit boring, but can you think of anything I could do to spruce it up a little?

Yeah, I know what you mean about the tree shot. Many times I'll see a tree in the forest and say, "Wow, cool tree," and take the shot, only to find I have a shot of a cool tree, but nothing like a cool shot. Still NOT boriing though. As far as sprucing it up... Well, when there is nothing around it but more grey trees... Unless you throw on one of the creative filters in Photoshop to make it look totally unnatural, we should probably be happy with what we got. Not every photo is an AWE shot or an AH shot, but when we stop expecting that, we learn to appreciate the beauty in it's ugliness. Sorry, I guess I can't help. Maybe I should have kept my keyboard shut.

lol no worries, I was a bit stuck with it my self. I did b&w, sepia and normal versions but I think I'll just be keeping it like it is!
