I just purchased a 300D last night from someone who switched to a D10 because of mirror slap. I would like to reset my new drebel to begin the numbering sequence from the beginning. Any idea how I can do this?
Thanks!

go in the menu to file nr reset and put that on ON
then format your cf card and it will be counting from 0001
after you did that you can put the file nr on continues so it keeps on counting you pictures
hope i'm clear enough for you ???

Thanks, you helped me to figure it out. My camera doesn't have the option you mentioned, which is what I had been looking for. I eventually realized that I could choose "File numbering auto-reset" which resets it to 0 after each CF card is replaced. I then formatted the card and reset the camera to "Continuous". This seemed to solve the problem.
Many thanks! :)
