color for me too... you lost a lot of detail in the face in the b/w one

I agree, color. The BG in the B&W is a little dark and some of the detail in the fur is lost.

Color for me. I have a black cat with the same eye color, most B&W conversion of him don't look to good. Cute cat by the way.

They both look very dark on my monitor, but I think I prefer the colour version! Like the cat too!

I like the B&W but think in the conversion there was a pretty steep loss of brightness. If you can change the way you went to B&W you may end up with lighter results.

Nice shot.

I agree with Beau - if you could keep some of the detail of the background in your conversion it would help the cat stand out more... otherwise I voting for the B/W

I got good results with a CHANEL MIXER layer set to

Output Chanel - Gray
Red: 100%
Green: +24%
Blue: -6%After that, paint over he eyes with black, add a HUE/SATURATION layer and bump up the yellow saturation to +41 and the lightness to +35. ;)

Color, the cat disappears into the background with the selective coloring.

I liked the full color too. I need to learn how to convert to black and white better. I think photoshop would help also.

I took a quick stab at a conversion with selective color.

I'm not normally a selective color fan, but I find it the better image here. In the first one, while there is better detail on the cat, the background is distracting. I'd go with the second version and lighten the cat up a bit. :)
