Nice action shots. Good exposure on most. I like being able to see the facial expressions in your tight crops. About the only room for improvement I can see is to have the puck showing in more of the images...but I know that is not always easy to accomplish. Very nice photos!:)

Thanks Jim. Yes the puck is so very elusive when I hit the shutter button! It is one of my goals to show the puck more often in my images but as you mention it isn't always easy. Thanks for the comments!

Great stuff, I shot 5 games this past weekend. I am sure these guys pass off the puck just as you are ready to press the shutter. Mens hockey is a challenge to shoot. Keep up the good work.

Can i ask what your settings are? I've tried shooting hockey before but my white balance is no where near yours.

Excellent shots, nice and bright, exposure right on. To bad having to shoot through the glass huh, as I can see the odd scuff mark from the glass. But for going through the glass these are great.

very nice shots. agree about the puck, but you got the goalie moment just right. you must have clean glass there.

Great shots...I think the 3rd one is the best and I dont like the 4th one, but those are compositional things...

great job!

Thanks all for the comments. Yes the glass at this particular arena is VERY clean. The arena is only 2 years old... maybe thats why? :D

My settings were f2.8, 1/500s, ISO 1600 and Auto White Balance. I shoot in RAW too which helps if they aren't perfectly exposed.

I have to say that's the first hockey player I've seen wearing eye black. I wonder how that stuff feels in the eyes, when he gets a not-so-gentle facewash from the other team.
Apparently the lights in arenas are too bright for him?

Nice shots................I gotta get me this lens.

Thanks Ross.

I too have never seen a hockey player wearing eye black. I think it is more for the look than what the black actually does!
