surfing & water sports photos with a Canon A80

Hello All,

I am planning on a beach assault this spring! I would like to be able to cover surfers from the water, as well as fishing shots...including some group dive shots (shallow dives only) my plans are to purchase and use a canon A80 with a waterproof case for this purpose.
Can anyone advise me on this project...
1. are you shooting an A80?
2, what type are you using?
3. Tips ?
4. any additional help?

One tip figure out how to pan, especially for the surf pics. It's not high speed racing as you may have seen some pics on that but they'are moving at diagonals and you should get aqainted with where to be and where NOT to be when shooting. I am not shooting with an A80 but I used to surf a for a few years and always thought of trying to photogrpah a day of it. Good luck hope to see you post some of these shots.
