I am going to buy a 10D and am trying to decide what lenses to purchase.
I mainly shoot landscapes but also shoot some wildlife. Would a EOS EF 35-350 mm F/3.5-5.6L USM zoom plus a good wide angle be appropriate?
Suggestions please.

Here are some user reviews of the 35-350: http://www.fredmiranda.com/reviews/showproduct.php?product=15&sort=7&thecat=27
I don't have that lens, according to the reviews a lot of people don't like the push-pull zoom mechanism. Also, it's one of those big, fat, heavy, conspicuous white lenses..... You'll have to decide for yourself if that's OK for you..... (I'd rather have a lighter, smaller lens).
The new 28-300L IS USM is more or less the successor to the 35-350. It has IS, which is definitely an advantage, but it's also going to be much more expensive.

The 35-350 is the perfect lens for a sports photographer sitting on the sidelines of a football field or basketball court.. You can zoom in and out on both distant and near shots and follow the action closely without having to change lenses..
For an every day walking around lens, I wouldn't want it..
It's large and weighs over three pounds. Look at the lens in my avitar on the left (It's a 100-400L extended) .. Imagine walking about with that slung around your neck for 2-3 hours or more. (The 35-350 is about the same size/weight).
I also carry a *much* smaller and lighter 100-300 lens in my kit for when I go on long hikes and don't expect that I'll be needing telephoto.
The 100-400L gets to be a royal pain to lug around for extended periods. But I do put up with it from time to time when I KNOW I'll be shooting long.. (eg. Going out specifically to shoot aircraft or wildlife)
It's best to take a 3 lens approach.. Wide angle, middle and telephoto. You'll probably be using the middle lens most.. You don't want that lens to be huge :)
The 28-135 IS is a popular choice.. Much lighter and much more versatile.
